IDB BOARD CONVENED FOR ITS SECOND VIRTUAL BOARD MEETING

23 July 2020

COTABATO CITY – On 06 July 2020, the Independent Decommissioning Body (IDB) Board led by Chairman HE Fatih Ulusoy (Turkey) virtually convened and successfully conducted its board meeting via Zoom video conference. The key discussions that transpired during the conduct of the said meeting include the continuous planning and preparations for the upcoming third phase of the decommissioning of MILF combatants and weapons.

Present during the virtual meeting were Vice-Chairman William Hovland (Norway), LtCol Muhammad Wata bin Abdullah Awat (Brunei), GPH Representatives (Ret) LtGen Rey Ardo and Prof. Mario Aguja, MILF Representatives Jannati Mimbantas and Jack Abas, and Chief of Staff Einar Aas.

This marks the second board meeting conducted in a virtual format by the IDB this year. The regular conduct of the board meeting is deemed important for IDB to ensure its unhampered operation as part of its mandate despite the ongoing pandemic situation. //CRA
